Adelaide Fringe

B DanceS, in association with SA’s own Fusion Beats invite you to be swept up in the romance, kitsch, comedy and joy of all things bolly in this one off special event.

Featuring high energy dance performances, surprise comedy guests, costume hire for those not in possession of a spare sari lying around the house, henna, and a dj to take the whole shebang Bhangra bopping late into the night. If you love Bollywood, this event is made for you. If you don’t love Bollywood, you soon will. And remember: if you don’t feel ridiculous dancing to Bolly for the first time, you’re doing it all wrong.

Telstra Bollywood Dance Competition 2013

B DanceS recently performed at the Telstra Bollywood Dance Competition held at Federation Square. This event was organised as part of the Indian Film Festival Melbourne, and was judged by famous director Kabir Khan and ace choreographer/director Farah Khan. The Indian dance legend Prabhudeva was a special guest at the event.

Bollywood at the Comedy Festival Melbourne 2013

Liz Cahalan choreographed the item featuring the band Bombay Royale and Dave Callan in Comedy Gala Night 2013 at the Palais St Kilda. Featuring 25 dancers in glittering costumes, the item spoofed the Bollywood “thing” with the dancers alternately cajoling and rejecting the awkward Bollywood star, Dave Callan. A riotous frenzy of colour and movement, it was a delightful visual counterpoint to the mostly vocal gag fest that is traditionally the Gala Night. The audience loved it!
